Elias the Flyest This album really helped me through a dark time & a breakup. I just lay on the floor and stared at the ceiling listening to it on loop. Thanks Budo. <3 Favorite track: Austin.

Travis Button It was actually pretty random when I came across this album by complete coincidence because I had known about Budo through his collaborations with Grieves, although this was my first introduction to his solo work as I was anything but disappointed. I think it is rare to find hip-hop producers with such a broad range of traditional musical backgrounds. Favorite track: Fremont.

Joseph Richardson Easily one of the best albums of 2013. Budo does a wonderful job of evoking the deepest of emotions on each of the offerings present on The Finger & The Moon, and his rough vocals compliment his smooth melodies in a way that exceeds anything the word "beautiful" could describe. Favorite track: Fremont.

about

Budo Seattle, Washington

Budo is a one man band from Seattle, creating futuristic, soulful, pop music. Well known for his production and performance work with hip-hop luminaries Macklemore, Grieves, and Slug (Atmosphere), Budo has stepped out from behind the boards to create a project of his own. His music is built upon a mastery of the trumpet, guitar and keys, mixed with a raw vocal skill reminiscent of classic soul. ... more
